Dr. Vitaliy Veklich, the main surgeon of Ladisten Clinic
Dr.Vitaliy Veklich is the head of Ukrainian school of Ilizarov method of treatment. Inspired by Ilizarov's method and Ilizarov fixator he created the Ilizarov-Veklich device - the external fixator for limb lengthening, deformities corrections and trauma healing.
He is practicing Ilizarov method at Ladisten Clinic, the private hospital located in Ukraine, Kiev.
He cooperated with Dr. John Herzenberg, the head of pediatric orthopedics at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore. Dr. Herzenberg has been in the profession for 29 years and also practicing the Ilizarov method and also known as a specialist in the fields of limb lengthening and deformity reconstruction.

Dr. Vitaliy Veklich has exchanged experience and practices with Dr. Dror Paley, the director of the Rubin Institute for Advanced Orthopedics at Sinai Hospital and co-director of the ICLL.
Dr. Paley was the first who introduced the Ilizarov method to the United States and Canada in 1985.

There were many articles written in field of orthopedics, Dr. Vitaliy Veklcich participates in different orthopaedic scientific meetings and conferences.

The book Dr. Veklich published in 2003 "Fundamentals of Controlled Transosteal Osteosynthesis" was the first book to present the results of experimental, theoretical and practical investigations validating application of Ilizarov's method in Ukraine. He offered the conception explaining a close link between healing of fractures and mechanism of self-regulation of the injured limb's blood supply. The book was the real finding for traumatology surgeons, orthopedic surgeons and investigators in the field of bone fracture healing.
